Dr. Steven Nguyen was raised in southern California. After completing his course work at the Prestigious University of California Irvine, he attended medical school at New York Medical College. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Bronx, New York. After residency, Dr. Nguyen completed an ACGME accredited Pain Management fellowship at Emory University Hospital. He is returning to metro Atlanta, after gaining valuable experience in treating chronic pain in the northeast. Dr. Nguyen holds board certifications in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Nguyen is skilled in treating patients with different occupational and sports related injuries including back, neck, nerve, and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Nguyen brings to Georgia Pain and Wellness Center his expertise in the treatment of a variety of chronic painful conditions including: intractable neuropathic pain; joint pain; headaches; myofascial pain syndrome; complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS/RSD); chronic abdominal pain; chronic pelvic pain; cancer-related pain; and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with a multi-modal approach. He is exceptionally skilled in treating his patients with compassion, empathy, respect, and concern, and achieves superior pain relief outcomes using a multidisciplinary approach by integrating a variety of minimally invasive interventional techniques, medication management, and functional restoration. He is proficient in performing minimally invasive spinal surgeries, fluoroscopic guided spinal injections, discography, radiofrequency neurotomy, spasticity management, and electro diagnostic testing. He also has extensive experience with Intrathecal Therapy for the treatment of pain secondary to cancer. In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Nguyen’s hobbies include swimming, soccer, guitar, photographing and spending time with his family. Dr. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese and Spanish.
